TRUE X33 Z/28 RS coded car Correct cross ram intake, carbs Daytona Yellow over Black Restoration receipts Console gauges, rallye wheel and more Under 1000 miles since restoration One of THE ultimate Camaros! In the world of collectable Camaros, a "69 Z/28 with the RS package stands tall. Need to show off even more? Get a Daytona Yellow example like this one here. Now, show up and pop the hood, revealing a cross ram in all its glory--that"s guaranteed to bring down the house! Available exclusively over the counter, the cross ram, twin 750CFM Holleys and a BIG solid lifter cam were worth in excess of 25hp over the base 4bbl version. On top of that, the rev potential went through the roof with peak power occurring at a stratospheric 7200RPM! Outside, shiny paint covers clean bodywork. The big black stripes and cowl hood certainly dominate, just as they should. New rally wheels with reproduction Firestone Wide Oval tires shoe the car as it was intended. A new grille, new emblems and new glass finish off a great first impression. Inside, the original black buckets were recovered in factory black and white houndstooth, which was one of the best options ever installed in a Camaro. A new rally wheel is in your hands while gauges in the dash and in the console tell you all you need to know. Steering and braking efforts are light thanks to power assists. The carpet, door panels and more are new. This is a comfortable place to take a ride, and the car"s definitely a joy to drive--it"s bolted together a LOT better than most F bodies. Under the hood is the star--a "69 DZ302 engine with that amazing cross ram setup. You could call the car"s mechanical package a day two job: Gone are the air pump and cast iron manifolds. Headers now feed a 2.5 dual exhaust, which is about the smallest you"d want to go with all of that breathing potential on top. Speaking of, the massive, part # correct Holleys are rated at 750CFM each, which is just a little smaller than what the standard single carb ingested on its own! Complementing the intake is the proper GM camshaft, which has a massive amount of duration and overlap. That"s a recipe for big power, but it idles at around 1400RPM. So what"s it like to drive? I was expecting to really wrestle with the car with its bias ply tires and race cam, but clutch effort is light, the steering is solid, roadholding is much better than expected and power delivery starts off much sooner than you"d think. The car is certainly happy in 3rd at around 35mph, with decent throttle response. It"s tricky to keep running while cold but after warming up you realize the effort was worth the wait. In a standard, as-delivered Z/28, you have a decent push into your seat and a decent redline thanks to the solid lifter cam. No amount of seat time in a regular Z can prepare you for the midrange-to-infinty power of that cross ram setup, though. Floor it at 3500rpm and it takes off. Cross 5 grand and it"s as if a second engine turns on--you really have to watch the tach as the car has a top end pull of a turbocharged car. Grab third and the fun starts over, though you"re now at speeds requiring a professional driver on closed course disclaimer. No wonder Chevy won the Trans Am championship with this combo! At the Motor Car Group, we"re enthusiasts first. We want you to enjoy your new car from the minute it"s delivered and the trailer door drops. Before a car leaves our shop, it"s gone through comprehensively, both visually and mechanically. We do more than just kick the tires, though: We fill your tires with nitrogen, road test (if the weather permits us here in Cleveland!) and clean it inside and out. We buff the paint using a three-step process immediately before it"s taken away so that it gleams when it arrives. Every car we sell, from Sunday drivers through the rarest exotics, is meant to be driven--get out there! If you have any questions before, during or after the sale, do not hesitate to contact us.
